Armella Catherine Podgorski Obituary (1937 - 2017)

Podgorski, Armella Catherine, nee Scherber After multiple surgeries and much pain and spending 4 months between Northwest Hospital and Life Care Rehabilitation Facility in Tucson, AZ, Armella finally had to be transferred to the Intensive Care Unit at Northwest Hospital because of deteriorating health. She needed to be placed on life support but after a long conversation with the hospital staff it was clear to her husband and children that there was no hope for recovery and she was taken off life support. She passed away very quickly and peacefully with her husband and children at her side. Armella was born on March 9, 1937 and grew up in Hastings, MN where she met her future husband, Ted, whom she married on September 7, 1957. During their more than 60 years of marriage they had 4 wonderful children: sons; Michael, Stephen (Angela), and James; and daughter Ann Marie Storberg (Kevin); and granddaughter Alison. Armella and Ted loved to travel both together and with their many friends and made wonderful friends during their travels in Germany. We know friends will miss the good times she arranged and her pleasant company and good cooking. She is preceded in death by her father, Joseph Scherber, and mother, Christine Scherber, nee Wagner. Armella will be cremated in Tucson, AZ and interred at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis, MN in July, 2018. A memorial celebration of her life will also be held in July.
