Barbara Jane Frost
March 29, 1959 – March 18, 2026
Barbara Jane Frost was born on March 29, 1959, in Jeffersonville, Indiana. She was the eldest of three siblings and, from a young age, embraced the responsibility of helping care for her family.
In 1970, Barbara relocated with her family to Phoenix, Arizona, where she briefly attended Trevor G. Browne High School. The family later moved to Dripping Springs, Arizona, where Barbara attended Hayden High School. It was there that she met Steven Frost, the man who would become her lifelong partner. Though born thousands of miles apart, Barbara and Steven shared the same birthday and year—a coincidence that would mark the beginning of a remarkable love story.
Following her graduation from Hayden High School in 1977, Barbara and Steven began building their life together. They settled in San Manuel, Arizona, and were united in marriage on April 25, 1980. Together, they built a home centered on love, commitment, and family.
In 1984, Barbara and Steven welcomed their first son, Brian, followed by their second son, Brent. Barbara devoted herself to caring for her home and family, creating a foundation of love, strength, and support.
In 1987, Barbara began volunteering with the local school district and later became a dedicated employee. Over nearly 39 years of service, she held many roles and made a lasting impact on those around her. She was a trusted friend and confidante to her colleagues and a beloved presence among students. Known affectionately as “Library Lady” and “Momma Frost,” Barbara found her greatest joy in working directly with children. She cherished reading to classes, organizing the annual science fair, and leading after-school STEM programs. Her compassion, encouragement, and unwavering support made her an extraordinary educator and mentor.
Barbara’s commitment to her students and community continued until she fell ill in November 2025.
Barbara and Steven shared more than 50 years of love and devotion, building a life centered on family and service. Together, they touched countless lives.
Barbara is survived by her loving husband, Steven; her sons, Brian and Brent; her sisters, Donna and Laura; and her five grandchildren, Liam, Aiden, Oliver, Emma, and Ember. She leaves behind a legacy not only in her family, but in the countless lives she helped shape.
