Brooke Cromwell Obituary (1972 - 2024)

Brooke Alexandra McGibbon was born in Evanston Hospital in Evanston, Illinois on September 15, 1972 to John and Catherine Brescian. She went up to 3rd grade in Illinois and then finished elementary school in Tucson, where her grandparents and extended family lived. Brooke attended Saguaro High School in Tucson, where she particularly enjoyed playing tennis. After high school, Brooke earned a bachelor’s degree in Public Relations/Advertising and a Broadcasting minor from Northern Arizona University. She enjoyed her time at NAU with her dear friends of her Gamma Phi Beta sorority. Following her college graduation, she interned at Snow Bowl, worked at Ballet Tucson, and generally excelled wherever she was employed. A couple of her jobs helped promote her love of travel, including America West Airlines and Bon Voyage travel. A mutual friend from Phoenix introduced her to Charles Cromwell, whom she married in 1999. They soon added sons William and Christian to their beautiful family. Besides Arizona, Brooke and Charles spent some time in North Carolina and Colorado, before settling back in Arizona. In 2021, she opened Peachwave, a successful business in Oro Valley, and she made it so much more than a yogurt shop. She loved giving young people at Peachwave a chance at their first jobs. Peachwave was the Oro Valley Chamber of Commerce’s “2022 Outstanding Small Business,” and it also received the “Taste of Oro Valley” honor. Not only was she a great businesswoman, she generously donated a portion of her monthly profit to local Oro Valley charities. A placard in Peachwave reads, “Love big, Love well – life is better with sprinkles,” which beautifully summarizes Brooke’s outlook on life. Charles described Brooke as "the best person I've ever met. I didn't know a single person who didn't like her. I have always been a better person because of her." Without a doubt, everyone who was blessed to have Brooke in their lives was infinitely better for knowing her. Brooke is survived by her husband Charles, sons William and Christian, mother Catherine Jean, father John, brother Brent, and many other family and friends who love and miss her dearly already.
