John Daniel Letchford, known as Danny, passed away on Saturday, July 22, 2023 at home in Oro Valley, Arizona. Danny was a beloved husband, dad, brother, soon-to-be grandfather, and friend. He passed away at age 66 due to complications from cancer.\n\nDanny had a huge heart and a warm smile, and was always ready to lend a hand. His fun-loving spirit and infectious energy were a treasure to many. Danny spent several decades from childhood to adulthood in southern New Jersey and was an ardent Eagles and Phillies fan. With his meticulous eye, Danny ran a successful house painting business for over 45 years. Alongside several other family members and friends, Danny was a longtime member the Elks, where he supported various local causes. \n\nNever one to sit still, Danny was known for always being active and his aversion to relaxation. He was selfless, endlessly supportive, and loved life. He cherished good times with family and friends.\n\nDanny was born in Denton, North Carolina in 1956, and was the third of eight children born to James Letchford and Martha Ann Wages. He is survived by his mother; his loving wife Bonnie; his children Kathleen (Ryan) and William (Maria); his stepsons Neil (Karen), Kyle (Lori), and Cody (Stacy); his siblings James (Ginger), Timothy (Lisa), Susan (Mark), Michael, Kathleen (Greg), Martha Ann, and William (Diana); numerous nieces and nephews; and countless friends. Danny was predeceased by his father.\n\nDanny was a steadfast source of love and strength. He leaves behind countless memories marked by his unique charm and filled with hilarity, warmth, and affection. His generous, big-hearted spirit will forever endure in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. An afternoon service will be held at Vistoso Funeral Home in Oro Valley, AZ on Saturday, August 5 at 3pm. Another service will be held in Virginia Beach, VA on August 19, with more details to be announced soon.\n\nIn lieu of flowers or gifts, friends are asked to donate a commemorative tree through the Arbor Day Foundation.
