Debra Crenshaw Obituary (1958 - 2023)

It is with a heart full of love and admiration that I, Lionel Crenshaw, write to celebrate the life of my beloved wife, Debra Rocha Crenshaw, who was born on January 9, 1958, in Chicago, IL, USA. Debra, an unforgettable soul who radiated kindness and wisdom, left us on July 15, 2023, leaving a legacy of love and inspiration. As the Bible verse in 2 Timothy 4:7 says, "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith." Indeed, Debra lived a life that embodied this verse, remaining steadfast in her faith and love for those around her. Debra's passion for education and nurturing young minds was evident in her career as a school teacher. Her dedication led her to earn a Bachelor's degree in Speech Communications, a Master's degree in Education, and recognition as a Mentor Teacher in 1989-90. She was a lifelong learner who instilled the same value in her students and everyone she met. Not only did she make a difference in the classroom, but she also made a significant impact in her sororities, Zeta Phi Beta and Phi Delta Kappa as well a being a Mary Kay Burgundy Car Consultant Team Leader. Outside of her professional life, Debra found joy in creating beautiful pieces of jewelry, crafting cards and gift items, and scrapbooking. Her creativity was a reflection of her vibrant spirit, and she often used these creative outlets to brighten the days of those around her. Debra is survived by her loving spouse, Lionel Crenshaw, her daughters Loritta Crenshaw and Cheritta Crenshaw, granddaughters Zyana Crenshaw-Pinkard and Alana Webster, her brother Raynardo Bank, and her mother Verneda Bank. She was preceded in death by her father, Walter Bank, whom she held close in her heart. Debra's life was a testament to the power of faith, love, and dedication. Just as Matthew 5:16 says, "In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven," Debra's light shone brightly, illuminating the lives of all who knew her.
