Donald K. Nelder

Donald K. Nelder of Tucson, Arizona, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his lovingfamily, on November 1, 2022.Don, aged 83, was born in Ontario, Canada where he met and married his wife Lynda in 1963.He graduated from Wayne State University. Don and Lynda have made their home in Tucsonsince 1972.Don had a long and successful career as a State Farm Insurance agent. He was very active as amember of the community, serving as a board member and participating member of numerousorganizations, including the Tucson Boys Chorus; Kiwanis; the Walk to Emmaus (a spiritualrenewal program designed to strengthen Christian disciples); and the Rim Trail Domestic WaterImprovement District. He spent much of his retirement being actively involved with the lives ofhis children and grandchildren.Don lived with gusto, remaining extremely active in business and personal pursuits all his life.He was never idle. He was known for his energy, his great humor, his honesty, his smile, and hiscompassion. He enjoyed staying physically active and playing the piano and the harmonica. Hewas a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, and was much loved by his family and hiscommunity.Don is survived by his wife of 59 years, Lynda; his three sons, Chris, Kelvin and Mason; hisdaughter-in-law Nikki; and his five grandchildren, Kolton, Teigan, Kianna, Jacob and Angel.Don's body was cremated at Vistoso Funeral Home in Oro Valley.
