HE

Henry "Hank" Forrest Eichorn

–

Oro Valley, Arizona

Henry Eichorn, 88, of Tucson, Arizona, passed away on January 11, 2023 after a difficult battle with AML Leukemia. His strong faith helped sustain him through this difficult time.

Hank was born on February 27, 1934, in Lafayette, Colorado to Lois Marie McDaniel (from Lafayette, Colorado) and Thomas McRobbie (from Abroath, Scotland). He was raised by his mother and stepfather, Peter Eichorn. After high school, Hank joined the Navy on January 11, 1952, and served for three years on the USS Neches with the U.S. 6th Fleet in the Mediterranean Sea.

In 1954 Hank met Georgia Schadegg, and they wed September 21, 1955, going on to have two children, Rodney Eichorn and Sandra Tipton.

For thirty years, Hank worked at the U.S. Department of Energy Rocky Flats Plant near Denver, Colorado. After becoming a widower, Hank met Jean Anne Hopp. They wed November 20, 1993 and moved to Tucson, Arizona in 1994. Hank liked to keep busy and soon found a part-time job at Mountain View High School in Marana, Arizona, where he relished his interaction with staff and students. After he retired, Hank most enjoyed going on walks, puttering around his yard and working on projects.

Hank always had a way with people and enjoyed conversing with everyone he met. His friends and family will remember him for his patience, kindness, gratitude, and humility.

Hank is predeceased by his parents and his sister Ethel Melton. He is survived by his wife, Jean; his sisters Loretta Adamic, Juanita Marino; his two children, Rodney (Amber) and Sandy (Randy); his five stepchildren; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Internment for Hank will be at Mountain View Memorial Park in Boulder, Colorado at a later date.

And now these three remain, faith, hope and love.

But the greatest of these is love.
