Jack W. Moore, 88, a resident of Tucson, AZ, died peacefully Sunday morning, October 15, 2017. He was born June 11, 1929, in Denver, Colorado, the only child of Wesley and Margaret (Yarnel) Moore. He attended the University of Oklahoma and received his Bachelor of Science degree in Petroleum Engineering and Geological Engineering. He was a member of the Phi Kappa Phi fraternity. After graduation, Jack served overseas in Germany as a lieutenant with the U.S Army Ordnance Corps. He married college sweetheart Martha Den Adel in February of 1953. After serving his country, he had a long and successful career with Shell Oil Company, working in Houston, Colorado, London, New Orleans, and finally retiring in Houston after more than 30 years in the oil industry. In 1990, Jack and Martha left Texas for Arizona mountain views in the lovely Saddlebrook community in Oro Valley near Tucson, AZ. \n\nJack & Martha loved traveling with the Airstream Caravan and had adventures to Canada and Mexico. They also owned a ski resort condo in Angel Fire, NM and were avid snow skiers and enjoyed golfing. Jack was a founding member of the Episcopal Church of the Apostles of Oro Valley and lived his faith through kindness and generosity of spirit. He was active with a group of friends from his Saddlebrook community, hosting dinners, playing Bocce' Ball, and meeting for breakfast weekly at the Sunnyside Cafe. He was a skilled handyman and maintained his residence and automobiles in a meticulous manner. He had a gentle presence with strong values and led by example. His humor and wit were loved by those who knew him well. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Martha (Den Adel) Moore and three sons; J. Scott Moore (married to Sherri), J. Kent Moore (married to Lisa), J. Blake Moore (married to Karen), six grandchildren; Keith Moore (married to Jessica), Natalie Hanson (married to Raymond), Kristin Delaney (married to Mark), Ben Moore (married to Emily), Sean Moore, and Alex Moore, and two great-grandchildren; Addison Hanson and Dean Moore.\n\nA celebration of Jack's life will be held on October 28, 2017 at 3:00p.m. at the Episcopal Church of the Apostles, 12111 N La Cholla Blvd, Oro Valley, Arizona.\n\nIn lieu of flowers, donations to the Church of the Apostles would be greatly appreciated.
