Jack Dan Muirhead, beloved husband, father and grandfather, passed away peacefully on October 23, 2013 with his family by his side. Jack was born on March 23, 1936 in Wellington, CO to Boyd and Norma Muirhead. He grew up and attended school in various locations in Utah, Kansas and Colorado, graduating from North Denver High School in 1954. Shortly after graduation Jack enlisted in the U.S. Naval Reserve and was called to active duty for 4 months serving on the USS Kearsarge. He was hired by IBM in 1957 as a systems engineer and relocated to Yakima, WA where he led a successful 35 year career. He retired and relocated to SaddleBrooke, AZ in 1995. He was active in a hiking group known as the "F Troop" and explored much of the desert southwest. Their ultimate adventure was a week-long guided Colorado River rafting trip through the Grand Canyon in 1997. With a wide array of interests and talents, Jack also enjoyed oil painting, wood carving, making silver jewelry, pottery, ballroom dancing and writing. He also had a strong love of animals. He was preceded in death by his son, Kirk. Jack is survived by his devoted wife, Yvonne; sons: Kevin, Daniel, Christian and John and their spouses; 16 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
