Joan and Warren met in their mid-teens and soon fell deeply in love and were married for 75 years.
Joan was a remarkable woman, a wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, and an inspiration to many. She used the God-given gifts of hospitality and loving others as a calling from God. Everyone who knew her loved her.
Their two daughters Jean and Marg are God's precious gifts to Joan and Warren. They have blessed them with the grandchildren and great-grandchildren that they so deeply love.
Joan loved her role as a piano teacher and it was apparent over the years that the love she had for each child was returned by both students and parents. Often, the parent also became a student of Joan.
The gifts of hospitality and loving others led Joan and Warren to become foster parents to teens in the 1980s. Over a 15-year period they were blessed to love and nurture over 20 teens. Joan's gift of loving others and her love of the Lord Jesus were used by God to lead many of the children to wholeness, and often also to embrace the gift of faith in Jesus as Lord and Savior.
Looking back on Joan's 95 years of life and over 75 years of marriage, it is the gift of faith in Jesus as Lord and Savior that marks her life most profoundly. Well done, good and faithful servant.
