JoEllen Arvio Obituary (1936 - 2019)

JoEllen Arvio passed away on November 11th at the age of 83. JoEllen was born on September 12, 1936 in Cape Girardeau Missouri to Rudy and Roberta Walker. She moved to Chicago at the age of 4 and considered Chicago her hometown. She is survived by her husband of 62 years Alvin Arvio her sister Sandra Bardin, daughters Christy Gordon and Janis Norris as well as her Grandchildren Tyler, Kelsey and Nicole. In addition to being a wonderful Mother she was a gourmet cook and hostess ( best known for her delicious desserts and array of Christmas cookies). She was an excellent student but did not have the opportunity to attend College after High School. While living in California raising her kids she started taking classes at a local College. Three moves later she completed her BA in Library Science from Millersburg College in PA. And later went on to complete her Master's Degree from Kent State University. She then worked as a Children's Librarian in Akron Ohio. JoEllen was an avid reader, traveler,fitness buff and called her three Grandchildren her pride and joy.
