?To view Jack's Life Tribute Video click on the "Memorial Video" tab.John Francis Arndt, Jr."Jack" to his brothers and sisters and many friends, "Pops" to his children and grandchildren, born May 24th, 1932 to John Francis Arndt and Margaret "McDonough" Arndt of Cohoes, New York passed away in Tucson, Arizona on January 15, 2017.He was married to Gladys A. Nolan on February 11,1956, and they had six children together in 18 years of marriage.He was later married to Jacquelin E. Bryant on September 18, 1982. They were married for 27 years before Jackie's passing in 2009. Between them they enjoyed the love of ten children.John served his country proudly in the U. S. Navy from 1951 through 1955 during the Korean War. He always said that he looked upon those years as some of the best years of his life. John was a graduate of Hudson Valley Community College in Troy, New York in 1958. He was employed by Albany Felt Company prior to his enlistment in the U.S. Navy, and upon his return from the war he continued to work at Albany International for 35 years, until his retirement.When John retired from Albany International, he and Jackie moved to Colorado and had many adventures. During the early years of his retirement John became a consultant for Albany International and thoroughly enjoyed working and living in Australia and Mexico.When Jackie passed away in 2009, John and his beloved cat, "Susie Q" moved to Arizona near his daughter Bonnie and her family."Pops" showed the same strength and perseverance that he had shown all of his life as he battled the brutality of dementia.John is preceded in death by his son John F. Arndt III of Jackson, TN, his grandson, William (Billy) Arndt of Moyock, NC, his brother Charles of Jackson, NJ, his sister Karen of Cohoes, NY, his sister Margaret (Peggy) Walsh of Schenectady, his sister Constance Owens of Cohoes, NY. He is survived by his sons William D. Arndt of Moyock, NC, Daniel J. Arndt of Youngstown, FL and Christoper M. Arndt of East Greenbush, NY; His daughters Bonita (Michael) McAuliffe of Marana AZ and Mary Beth (Michael) Rankin of Burnt Hills, NY; His stepdaughters Victoria (Ronald) Slowek of East Brewster, MA, Kelly MacFarlane of Cohoes, NY, Tammy Castell of Ft Collins, CO and Kimberly Wallace (Jamie Frend) of Northbridge, MA; His sisters Patricia Long of Albany, NY and Christine Richardson of Schenectady, NY; His brother Terrence of Towne County, Missouri.
