John C. Bridges, 64, of Tucson, died Saturday, May 22, 2010. John was born in Rapid City, South Dakota, to Kenneth and Elaine Bridges. He grew up in El Paso,Texas, and graduated from Austin High School and Texas Western College. He married Carol Hamilton of El Paso. He began his 42-year career with El Paso Natural Gas Company and continued as an employee of the company until his death. He was an avid camper and outdoorsman. Spending summers as a youth in South Dakota with his maternal grandparents and beloved uncles, he learned to love the outdoors area and returned to the Black Hills as often as he could. He took great pride in his children and grandchildren. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, J.D. and Michelle Bridges of Albuquerque, N.M., and their daughters Maya and Aleea; a daughter Sarah of Tucson; a sister, Kathryn (Steve) Cornett of Canyon, Texas, and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held in El Paso, Texas, at a later date. The family suggests memorials to The Kenneth Bridges Memorial Fund, which was established in memory of his father, at Hospice of El Paso, 1440 Miracle Way , El Paso TX 79903.
