John Hoey

John Andrew Hoey, born 1/5/1945, passed away on 10/19/24 after a long illness. He was the devoted husband of Dottie for 55 years, loving father of Barbara Golino (Pat), Christopher Hoey ( Kristine), Brian Hoey (MaryKate) and Bridget Hoey (Jessy) and proud Grandpa of Claire, Matthew, William, Abigail, Declan, Emma, Aidan and Collin Hoey. He was also a beloved cousin, brother-in-law, father-in-law and uncle to many. He was predeceased by his parents, John and Barbara Cannon Hoey.
Born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, John was a proud veteran of his beloved Marine Corps. He worked for many years as a high voltage lineman at Con Ed in Brooklyn. He and his family relocated to Connecticut in 1987, where he continued, in the same capacity, for Northeast Utilities. He was a member of the Marine Corps League, where he earned the title of Senior Vice Commandant. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus. John and his wife spent the early years of his retirement between CT and AZ, finally settling in AZ, where he passed away peacefully in his sleep.
John was a great friend to many and had a wonderful dry sense of humor. He helped many people through very difficult times. He will be deeply missed and forever in our hearts.
