To View John's Memorial Video Click Here\n\nJohn T. Westerman Sr. of Oro Valley, AZ, formerly of Newburgh, NY died Wednesday October 27, 2021 after a short illness. At the age of 90, he passed away peacefully with his family by his side. \n\nJohn was the son of Olive (Wynkoop) Westerman and John M. Westerman. He grew up in Walden, NY, and attended the Albany College of Pharmacy, graduating in 1953. He settled in Newburgh,NY after graduation where he practiced as a pharmacist and owner of Ace Drugs for over 25 years. His professionalism and compassion for all of his patients and customers earned him the respect of those he served in his neighborhood. Upon retirement, he moved to the Tuscon, AZ area and ultimately settled in Oro Valley. John was a devoted husband and father and a well respected member of his community. He enjoyed traveling, especially driving across and around our beautiful country. He enjoyed many sports, especially the Diamondbacks and Cardinals of his adopted state of Arizona. \n\nJohn will be remembered by his family and friends as a kind, generous, and loving man who touched everyone's life in a very special way. He is survived by his children, John Westerman Jr and his wife Kathy of Newburgh, NY, Diana (Austin) Campos and her husband Rudy of Newburgh, NY, Maria Jaynelle Austin of Gardiner, NY, and Daretia Austin-Bonesso and her husband Pete Bonesso of Yorktown, NY. He is also survived by his four grandchildren, Michael Westerman, Rudy\n\nCampos, Sarah Rodriguez, and Colin Bonesso. He is also survived by his sister, Elaine (Westerman) Townsend and her husband Paul, and his companion, Mary Ann Phillips. \n\nJohn is pre-deceased by his beloved wife, Patti. \n\nA memorial service was held at the Vistoso Funeral Home in Oro Valley, AZ on October 30, 2021. Interment will be on November 1, 2021 at Holy Hope Cemetery in Tucson, AZ. \n\nFor those who wish, memorial contributions in his name may be made to the Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona.
