Keith Eugene McIntyre

–

Tucson, Arizona

Keith Eugene McIntyre, 94, passed away on September 28, 2026. Keith was a devoted husband, proud father of five, loving grandfather and great-grandfather, and a beloved friend to all who knew him. Raised in Iowa by a single mother, he learned the value of hard work, living wisely, and always helping others—values he carried throughout his life and passed on to his children. His greatest lessons were taught by the life he lived.

Keith served honorably in the United States Navy from 1951 to 1955, including service aboard the submarine rescue ship USS Coucal (ASR-8). He enjoyed his lifelong career as an engineer at IBM, cycling, working out, and trying anything he thought might benefit his health. He also had an undeniable sweet tooth and a genuine love of shopping—from garage sales and auctions to cologne counters at the mall and the Tucson Gem Show. He could find a treasure just about anywhere.

Known for his incredible sense of humor, charming personality, and unmistakable twinkle in his eye, Keith never met a stranger. He was always ready to help, make someone laugh, and turn a stranger into a friend.

Keith is survived by his wife, Mary McIntyre; his five children, Rodney McIntyre, Robert McIntyre, Sandra (Stan) Hansen, Ryan (Bridget) McIntyre, and Korine McIntyre; his two stepchildren, Terri (Alex) Boerner and Thomas Calonder; 11 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Neil McIntyre.

Keith will be remembered for his love of family, generous heart, curious spirit, strong work ethic, and the laughter he brought to everyone around him. He leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and countless wonderful memories. He will be deeply missed and forever loved.
