Keith Miller, 80 of Oro Valley, Arizona passed away peacefully June 30, 2015 after a prolonged battle with cancer. He was born April 19, 1935 in Lebanon, Missouri to Arthur and Faye Jacobs Miller. He married Donna Alexander on August 18, 1956 at First Baptist Church of Rolla, Missouri with Rev. Ray Alexander and Dr. Fred Eastham of Springfield, MO officiating. In addition to his wife Donna, of 59 years, he is survived by his daughter Michelle Clifton and husband, Sam of Nixa, Missouri, grandchildren Taylor, Dustin and Nathan Clifton, his son Mark Miller of Utah, brother-in-law Jack Alexander and wife Arlene, sister-in-law Debbie Templeton and husband Bob, nieces, nephews and cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents, Donna's parents, and his son Kyle Miller. Keith graduated from Senior High School in Springfield, Missouri in 1953. He graduated with a degree in Ceramic Engineering from Missouri School of Mines and Metallurgy in Rolla, Missouri in 1958. Upon graduation, he received a commission as a 2nd Lt. in the U.S. Army and served in the reserves for 10 years and was honorable discharged as a Captain. Keith participated in a Management Intern Program with the Bureau of Mines in Rolla, Missouri. He was employed as an engineer in Rolla, Missouri until 1962. He was selected for the Dept. of Interior Management Intern Program in 1961-1962. Upon completion of the Management Intern Program, he accepted a position as Engineer with the Bureau of Land Management in Phoenix, Arizona. In 1970, Keith was offered positions with the National Park Service in California, Nebraska, and Denver, Colorado. He spent 1970-1986 as Chief. Division of Mining and Minerals for the National Park Service in Denver, Colorado. Upon retiring, Keith was employed as a Consulting Engineer with Clemmer and Associates in Arvada, Colorado for 5 years. Keith was involved in residential and commercial real estate development in Missouri and Arizona. Keith was ordained as a deacon in First Southern Baptist Church of Phoenix, Arizona in 1965 and has served in all subsequent churches where he has lived. Keith was involved in Men's Ministry Outreach to include youth and missions. He is a member of University Heights Baptist Church, Springfield, Missouri and attends Oro Valley Church of the Nazarene, Oro Valley, Arizona. Keith enjoyed going to his children and grandchildren's activities as they grew up. He particularly enjoyed watching his daughter play soccer through the collegiate level. Later in life he enjoyed his granddaughter's debate tournaments and choir concerts. He also would be found at his grandson's sporting events and enjoyed hearing of their success in football. Keith was equally proud of his son-in-law's success in business. You would always find him greeting people as they arrived at Sam and Michelle's parade homes. Keith enjoyed his life with Donna especially their retirement years in Arizona, where they spent time taking walks and enjoying the view of "their mountain" from the patio daily.
