Kenneth Scarlett

Dr. Kenneth M. Scarlett passed away on August 6, 2013 in Tucson, AZ. He was born on January 22, 1946 in Brooklyn, N.Y. Kenneth served in the US Army and was honorably discharged in 1967. EDUCATION: Hofstra University Hempstead, New York 1968 - 1972 Degree: Bachelor of Arts He studied Medicine at The University Of Monterrey, Mexico Division of Health Sciences, Graduated in 1978. Internship: 1979 - 1979 State University of NY. at Stony Brooke School of Medicine, Nassau Hospital. Residency: 1979 - 1982 Diagnostic Radiology. Chief Resident in Radiology: 1981 - 1982 Nassau Hospital, Mineola, New York. CAREER: Diagnostic Radiologist Long Island Jewish-Hillside Medical Center Queens Hospital Center Affiliate Associate Member of The Medical Society of The County of Queens, Inc., in 1983 Member of The American College of Radiology, 1986. During his career he received multiple certifications, diplomas and awards. After 20 years of service working as a Radiologist, Ken Retired from The Phoenix, VA Medical Health Care System, in 2011. Kenneth was a person with great fortitude, self-mastery and very special sensitivity. He enjoyed music, playing classical guitar, the arts and working on his sports cars. He was also an avid reader. Sober in character with a quiet personality, Kenneth was totally absorbed in his work as a Radiologist. A great humanitarian, he helped diagnose illnesses, dedicating his life to long hours serving his patients. Strength of character and independence always characterized Kenneth. His ethics and high sense of morality were incorruptible. He never hesitated to do the right thing, nor made any concessions. His family felt loved, protected and supported. He gave himself and others the freedom to make decisions and deal with the consequences. In life everyone admired and appreciated this worthy and accomplished man. In death Kenneth moves on to the peace of the afterlife. Kenneth will be sorely missed and always remembered with love and affection by his wife Ruth Scarlett, his son Keith Scarlett, his mother Eileen Scarlett, his brothers Ronald (Jean) Scarlett, Gary Scarlett, Craig Scarlett, Jeffrey (Elena) Scarlett and sister Cynthia (Jose) Ruiz. Previously deceased family includes his father, Maurice Arthur Scarlett, his brother Bruce Scarlett, his maternal Grandparents Charles Hemberger, Gertrude Hemberger and paternal Grandparents Edelbert Edward Scarlett and Marie DuPont. En sus momentos de entretenimiento tocaba la guitarra disfrutaba de los clsicos as como del arte, la lectura, y de sus autos deportivos. Su carcter sobrio y retrado. Absorto en su trabajo de Radilogo ayudo al diagnosticar las enfermedades de sus semejantes . Se entrego a su vocacin y labor humanitaria dedicando horas de desvelo y de cansancio da tras da. La fortaleza de su carcter e independencia siempre lo caracterizo. Su etica y alto sentido moral fue ferrea e incorruptible. Nunca dudo ni titubeo frente a lo correcto. Nunca hizo concesiones. Protegi y apoyo siempre a su familia compartiendo un amor sincero. Se dio libertad a si mismo y a los dems respetando sus decisiones y consecuencias. Kenneth hoy transforma su vida y pasa a otra dimensin. Nuestra admiracin y reconocimiento por un hombre digno, responsable, integro congruente, de gran temple y profunda sabidura cuya existencia dio grandeza a su existencia y nuestra existencia. Kenneth ser extraado y siempre recordado con amor y cario por su esposa Ruth Scarlett, su hijo Keith Scarlett, su madre Eileen Scarlett sus hermanos Ronald (Jean) Scarlett, Gary Scarlett, Craig Scarlett, Jeffrey (Elena) Scarlett y su hermana Cynthia (Jose) Ruiz. Familiares fallecidos, su padre Maurice Arthur Scarlett, su hermano Bruce Scarlett, sus abuelos maternos Charles Hemberger, Gertrude Hemberger.
