LaVerne Diaz

Mary LaVerne Diaz, known to her friends as LaVerne, passed away in the early hours of February 23, 2012 due to complications from lung cancer at the age of 71. LaVerne was born on January 14, 1941 in St. Louis, Missouri to Bert and Rena Anyan. She spent the majority of her life in Palatine, Illinois. She worked as a supervisor at Northrop Grumman Corporation for 20 years in the QRC Support Center. She moved to Tucson, Arizona in December 1999 to be near her daughter Jennifer. In retirement, LaVerne was blessed to have loving friends and neighbors. She enjoyed taking long walks with her dog and was an avid reader. LaVerne is survived by her daughter Jennifer and sister Carol. She is now reunited with her daughter Karen. Services will be held at Vistoso Funeral Home on Tuesday, February 28th at 2:00pm. Laverne will be laid to rest at Marana Mortuary Cemetary.
