Leighton Bennett

Leighton P. (Leigh) Bennett, 86, of Oro Valley, AZ, passed away peacefully and went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 5, 2025, at his home, with his wife by his side.

A Celebration of Leigh’s life will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, March 20, 2025 at Vistoso Funeral Home, 2285 E. Rancho Vistoso Blvd, Oro Valley, AZ, 85755, preceded by a visitation at 1:30 PM.

Leigh was born on February 17, 1939, in Pittsburg, KS, the son of Paul and Claudia Bennett. He graduated from West High School in Minneapolis, then attended Dunwoody College of Technology, before entering the plumbing trade.

Leigh earned his Master Plumber License, and worked for several plumbing companies in the Twin Cities area throughout his career, including Southside Plumbing, before retiring in 1997.

Leigh is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Judy, his 5 children from a previous marriage, Bruce, Penny, Linda, Kathy, and Laura, and his sister, Sharon (Ray) Keenan. In addition, Leigh is survived by numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Leigh and Judy have been members of St. Andrews Presbyterian Church in Tucson, for 20 years, enjoying and appreciating the people and ministries of their church family.

For many years after their retirements, Leigh and Judy enjoyed traveling extensively… taking trips both within the states and to Europe, along with several cruises to multiple locations.

Leigh had a love for people… family and friends alike, and a strong faith in God which helped sustain him through the decline in his health over the past several month.
