Leroy A. Lutz, 77, of Oro Valley, Arizona, passed away on May 30, 2016.\n\nBorn November 24, 1938 in Dodge City, Kansas to Andrew and Genevieve (Stein) Lutz.\n\nHe graduated from St. Mary of the Plains College with a BA degree in Accounting. When he left Kansas he worked for Martin Marietta in Denver. He married Sandra Gay Peterson at St. Anne's Catholic Church, Arvada, CO August 1, 1963 and were married for 29 years. Leroy was hired with IBM Boulder where he worked until he retired in November, 1993. While living in Colorado, he lived in many cities prior to moving to Arizona.\n\nHe and Pat were married in Las Vegas May 1996 and just celebrated their 20th wedding anniversary. They were embarking on a new chapter in their lives by relocating to Puerto Penasco (Rocky Point), Mexico. He wanted to live near the water where he said he felt so much better. \nHe is survived by his wife, Pat Maher; children, Douglas, Deborah, Pamela Lutz; step-children: Kelly Kingsley (Travis), Christine Spencer; grandchildren: Veronica Lutz; step-grandchildren: Jordan Kingsley, Quint Kingsley, Stephan Anderson, Jade Cordova and Isaiah Cordova; sisters: Janelle Oliver, Marcy Wright, Bernice Droeste (Lester), Mary Beth Osborn (Rob) and Donna Miller (Ron); brothers: Mark Lutz and Steve Lutz; many nieces and nephews. Leroy is preceded in death by his brother Jackie Lutz.\n\nLeroy was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and a loyal friend to many. He was passionate about traveling, loved to garden and had a strong love for reading. He missed growing vegetables after relocating to Arizona. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Desert Museum, IBM Quarter Century Club (Boulder) and other various organizations.\n\nServices will be held at St. Andrew's Catholic Church, Dodge City. Kansas on July 16, 2016.\n\nDonations can be made to St. Andrews Church, the charity of your choice or a Memorial Mass.
