Lon Edward Alness

Lon E. Alness, age 64. Born 4/16/51 to Edwin "Lowell" and Ethel Alness in Sioux Falls, S.D. He is survived by his wife and H.S. sweetheart, Jean Loveland Alness, sons Andrew and Edward and sister Laurie Alness Knutson. A graduate of Canton S.D. High School, Augustana University, and Drexel University's M.B.A. program, Lon was also a life-long employee of the Campbell Soup Company where he served in numerous roles, most recently as a Vice President of Finance until his recent retirement. Lon lived most of his life in Southern New Jersey and was an avid Philadelphia sports fan. Soon after retirement he moved to Oracle, A.Z. where he became a Pickleball enthusiast and began giving more attention to his much neglected golf game. In addition, he greatly enjoyed sharing good times with friends, making people laugh and feel comfortable. He will be sorely missed by many. Service will be held on Thursday 10/29 10am at Santa Catalina Roman Catholic Parish in Tucson, A.Z. Following the service he will be laid to rest at the Marana Mortuary Cemetery in nearby Marana, A.Z. All are welcome and encouraged to attend. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully suggests making a donation in Lon's memory to the American Heart Association at https://donatenow.heart.org/
