Mary Elizabeth Koreski Carder died July 10, 2016 at the age of 93. She was born in Yakima, Washington on November 13, 1922. She is survived by her husband of 74 years, William Keith Carder; a sister Jetta Johnson-Bullhead City, AZ; five children; Joy Young-Tucson, AZ; Stephanie Eberharter (Richard)-Seattle, WA; William L. Carder (Cheryl)-Wilsonville, OR; Carol Reicks-Tucson, AZ and Christine Palanuk, Scottsdale, AZ. She had 8 grandchildren: Heather McCabe Lutz (David)-Austin, TX; Nicholas Boyles (Alice)-Eugene, OR; Julia Kenny Lacy-Seattle, WA; Tammy Boyles Kibler (Steven)-Tualitin, OR; Jeffery Carder (Shelley)-Alamagordo, NM; Sara Carder Cline-Eugene, OR and 8 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her brother William Koreski and two grandsons: John Kenny-Seattle, WA and Travis McCabe-Chapel Hill, NC.\n\nMary was born in Yakima, Washington. She lived in Eugene, Oregon where she was secretary to the City Manager. She was the City Recorder for the town of Beaverton, Oregon and was the Assistant to the District Manager of the town of Gresham, Oregon.\n\nShe loved to sing and dance and sang in many church choirs, as well as in Sweet Adelines. She also took up tap dancing again after retirement and performed in Palm Springs, CA. Husband Bill nicknamed her Busy Fingers because she was always involved in some type of activity involving her hands, such as sewing, knitting and crafts.\n\nBefore retiring, she and Bill were avid boaters. In 1984 they began their retirement, RVing full time for two years before settling down in Palm Springs, CA. They continued to do a great deal of traveling throughout the US, Canada, and Mexico, as well as abroad.\n\n Mary and Bill moved to Tucson, AZ in 2002 where she continued to live an active life until she was diagnosed with Alzheimer's four years ago.?
