He was the loving son of Michael and Kimberly, cherished brother of Makayla and Mariah and beloved boyfriend of Kimberly "Sweetheart" Montoya. Survived also by grandparents Richard and Patricia Teschner; Jack and Sandi Kok and Patsy Kimbro; Uncles James Teschner, Thomas (Danuta) Teschner, Jon (Lauri) Teschner, Kenny (Shellie) Kok, Ron (Beth) Jennings, Aaron (Jennifer) Jennings; Aunts Karen (Shawn) Kok-Walls, Kris Kok, Cheryl (Richard) Parent and "Aunt Jodi". Survived also by 17 Kok cousins and 7 Teschner cousins. Matthew was born at the University of Arizona Medical Center on April 17, 1994. He resided at his family home in Tucson where he grew up. Matt graduated from Mountain View High School and was currently attending Pima Community College (PCC). Matt was a hard working individual who was successfully achieving his goals. His goals were to complete his 4th semester at PCC and transfer to U of A to complete his undergraduate degrees. He was currently applying to Physical Therapy schools here in Arizona. He was inspired by his Grandfather, Aunt and Uncle who are all Physical Therapists. Matt was an exceptional, bright, smart, energetic, enthusiastic, ambitious, determined and a goal oriented young man. He has worked since he was 16. First, to make his own way, he worked in Fry's grocery store. Then at 17 found work as a transporter at UAMC. His coworkers said, he would often go beyond his transporter duties in order to ensure a patients comfort and to assist his fellow coworkers with their tasks. He was so selfless and driven to serve others. In August 2013, he started a new job in the endoscopy lab and was excited about being on call and having to respond in time of need. One close co-worker wrote, and friends did agree, that "he was a 35 year old man in a 19 year old body" as he took on responsibilities that many his own age could not handle. His friends were inspired by him. Another friend wrote " I specifically remember Matt being called on stage during an assembly because he had run more miles during recess than any other kid in school and he was only in first grade". Matt loved the outdoors and it showed in the many activities he loved doing including jet skiing, snowboarding, wake boarding, water skiing, hunting, fishing, hiking, camping, traveling, and motor homing with his family and friends. Matt also took pride in his health by spending time weight lifting and working out. Matt was frugal, but not cheap. If Matt ever spent his money frivolously, it was on his "Sweetheart". His "Sweetheart", Kimberly Montoya, was not just his girlfriend, she was his whole life. For the past two and a half years they spent every single day of their lives together studying and living simply. Lately, in their spare time, they hiked in the Catalina Mountains, traveled to California (Disneyland, SeaWorld, etc.) Texas (#1 waterpark in the world) and the Western Caribbean (Cruise ship) for a week, snow boarded, went out for dinners, and an occasional movie. Needless to say, Matt enjoyed every moment of time with his "Sweetheart" whether it was studying, traveling or just relaxing! We will always remember Matt's unique expressions of joy, happiness, and excitement in his face and eyes when he experienced things for the first time. These memories are precious and will always be treasured. We will never forget him and are comforted knowing that he is in the Lord's presence. For as an Unknown Author' wrote"It broke our hearts to lose you but you did not go alone. For a part of us went with you the day God welcomed you home." We will see him again on resurrection day. Although short, we are so happy that God has blessed us with his life, love, compassion for caring and doing for others. We love you and will miss you but always feel you in our hearts, Your Loving Family
