Michael Scott Bembenek, 57, of Oro Valley, AZ passed away unexpectantly in his sleep of natural causeson March 29, 2023.He leaves a huge hole in the hearts of his family and friends who were blessed to have had his hugeheart, love and loyal friendship. Not to mention always entertained by his subtle wit and hilarious senseof humor.Mike was born on August 8, 1965, to Robert and Anne Bembenek in Oak Lawn, IL. He grew up on thesouth side of Chicago eating the best hot dogs and pizza and playing baseball, football, and streethockey with the best group of life long friends a guy could ask for.He married his high school sweetheart, Laura, in May of 1988. The following year the two embarked ona new journey, leaving Chicago and moving Tucson, AZ where they built an amazing life together. Mikeloved everything about the desert and spent most of his time outdoors, playing baseball, bicycling,hiking, golfing, home projects and floating in the pool with his signature margarita in hand. Althoughrelocated to Arizona, his dedication to Chicago sports teams carried on. Die hard loyal to the Cubbiesand Da Bears.If there was one thing Mike was, that was determined. No matter what the challenge or extremeobstacle, of which there were many, he gave his all to succeed whether for himself or others. Hisstrength and resolve were inspirational to those that had the good fortune to know him.He touched the hearts of everyone who knew him, an absolute amazing father, a loving husband, agreat uncle, brother, and friend. No matter what the circumstance, you could always count on Mike tobe there. And more often than not would leave with a story of something funny Mike did or said whileyou were with him.Mike is survived by his wife Laura, his son Ethan of whom he loved deeply and was grateful every day forthe honor of being his dad. His profound joy in being Ethan's dad was beautiful. His dedication to hisfamily was beyond reproach.Mike is now at peace, joining his parents Bob and Annie who are no doubt at this moment eating hotdogs, drinking a cold one and watching the Cubbies!There will be celebration of life open house on Saturday, April 15, from 12:00-4:00pm at Vistoso FuneralHome, 2285 E Rancho Vistoso Blvd, Oro Valley, AZ 85755.
