Mitchel David Bean Jr.

–

Oro Valley, Arizona

Mitchel David Bean, Jr., was born in Detroit, Michigan on November 8, 1959. He was the first of three children born to Mitchel D. Bean, Sr. and Augzelle (Garrard) Bean. Early in his life, Mitchel had a love for Christ and became a born again Christian. He was heavily involved with the church; working as an assistant pastor, Junior Church leader, song leader and the children's bus ministry. Through his passion for education and work in youth ministries, he pursued a degree in education.

Mitchel earned a bachelor's degree in education from Hyles-Anderson College in 1981 and began teaching children in Detroit, Michigan. In later years, he continued to study education, with an emphasis in special education. Mitchel earned multiple master's degrees, one being in Special Education from the University of Detroit Mercy.

The University of Detroit Mercy also employed Mitchel as an adjunct professor, which aided him greatly in traveling abroad. Mitchel loved to travel and to help others learn about the world. He had a profound love for history and loved exploring other culture's rich histories and customs. He also had many other hobbies such as hunting and fishing. Mitchel earned a black belt in judo, which helped him set kids straight when they were misbehavin'. Mitchel also became a free mason and was an active member of the Sylvania Pyramid Lodge.

Mitchel, his wife Cathy Ruth Crowley, and his mother-in-law, Wilma Crowley, moved to Oro Valley, Arizona in July of 2017. Mitchel loved the weather and the mountains. He renamed each peak after a loved one and updated maps will be available soon. He was an amazing, kindhearted, gentle, intelligent, loving, caring, and silly man. He worked very hard to care for his family and loved spending quality time with them. He enjoyed making others laugh and helping those in need.

Mitchel David Bean, Jr. passed away peacefully and went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on December 26, 2018. Mitchel is survived by his loving wife Cathy Ruth Crowley; his three children, Rachel Morrow (Benjamin Morrow), Candace Bean (Brian Savidge), and Mitchel Bean, III (Rachel Zarich-Bean). He was "Papa" to two grandchildren Charlotte Morrow and Tucker Zarich, with another grand-daughter expected in January.

A private funeral service is being held for the family at Vistoso Funeral Home (2285 E Rancho Vistoso Blvd, Oro Valley, AZ 85755). A Memorial/Life Celebration is being planned and is to be located in the Michigan/Ohio area. Details to follow. _________________________________________________________________________________________
