On Sunday, May 9, 2021, Polly J. Reinacker, loving mother of two, sister, and grandmother of two, passed away at age 85.
Polly was born on January 20, 1936 in Newton, Massachusetts to Arthur and Sally Veinott. She attended Katherine Gibbs School in Boston. She was a self-proclaimed tomboy growing up, and loved sports, especially skiing. She later became an airline stewardess, her all-time favorite profession.
Polly was passionate about traveling, whether it was in her motor home exploring the United States, or overseas journeys to Europe where she particularly loved the rich histories of castles. Perhaps her favorite and most memorable destination was Paris, which later became a frequent subject of her painting.
Polly was remarkably talented, painting walls worth of beautiful paintings. She also created beautiful glass jewelry pieces as well as decorative dishes and Christmas ornaments. She was a talented seamstress who could produce a man's suit or lady's evening gown with ease and finesse.
Any conversation with Polly inevitably included her affinity for favorite foods - her must-have afternoon snack of crackers and cheese (preferably with a glass of wine), her beloved East coast "lobstah" roll, any meal featuring shrimp, and all kinds of baked goods - especially cookies!
Polly was preceded in death by her father, Arthur; her mother, Sally; her uncle, Cyril; and her brother, Peter. She is survived by her daughter, Robin; her son, Greg; her son-in-law, Rich, and her two grandsons, Daniel and Bryan.
Polly's memorial service will be at 11 a.m. on Monday, May 17, 2021, at Vistoso Funeral Home in Oro Valley, Arizona.
