Rae Marie Edwards

It is with great sadness, we share that our loving mother, Rae Marie Edwards, passed away on May 9th, 2023, at the age of 82. She was a wonderful mother who was cherished by all of her family and many friends. Marie was born in Long Island, New York and moved to Tucson at a young age. She graduated from Amphi High School in 1959 and started a family. She went on to have a career in retail and retired from Fry's Food and Drug Store. Marie was also a devoted volunteer in the Tucson Community which included her service to her church, St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, as a Eucharistic Minister and a volunteer at St. Vincent de Paul. She is preceeded in death by her parents, Stephen and Rae Kuzma, sister Judy (Ed) Bell and nephew Steve Bell. She is survived by daughters; Lisa(Jack Rumps)Burkett, Stephanie Burkett, Judy(Scott)Brevaire, and her son Charlie(Michelle)Burkett, Grandchildren; Brandon(Vanessa), Taylor(Cameron), Lauren, Taylor, Robert(Ashley), Michael, Sean, Denielle, Sienna and Charlie, Great Grandchildren; Romee and Blaze, Step-children; Dean(Pam)Thornton, Shelly Edwards, Cindy (Paul) Sherman, Step-grandchildren; Astin, Dimitri, Stamati, Xanthi, Brayden, Daisy, and Sadie, nephew and neice; James and Susen Bell.

There will be a Special Mass in celebration of Marie on Friday, June 16th, with a Rosary starting at 10:30 am and Mass at 11:00 am at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, 8650 N. Shannon Rd. Tucson, Arizona 85742. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Rae Marie Edwards to The St. Vincent De Paul Council at 829 S. 6th Ave, Tucson, Arizona 85701, or on their website at svdptucson.org.
