Richard A. Doris "Dick" was born and raised in Queens, N.Y. After graduation from Andrew Jackson High School, Dick joined the U.S. Air Force in 1944. He served as a serial rear gunner with the 29th Bomb Group of the 52nd Bomb Squadron in Guam. He loaded, aimed and fired serial machine guns at enemy aircraft and ground targets. Dick's surviving brother, Bob, also served for the Air Force as an aircraft pilot. Both brothers served their country with pride. After military service Dick furthered his education and became an executive for ESSO (Exxon) and worked at the headquarters at Rockefeller Center in N.Y.C. In 1977 Dick married Elsy Stieger. In 1993, Dick and Elsy retired to Arizona to build their forever home and enjoy the warmth, the mountains and Dick's favorite sport, golf. Dick was a kind, gentle and giving man who enjoyed simple pleasures. He loved playing golf with his buddies, traveling with Elsy and just having good times with friends. Dick Doris was one of the good ones and will be missed by all who knew him.
