Our beloved Richard Aaron Snearly left this earth on May 17, 2023 to once again join hearts and hands with family that had gone before.\n\nOn February 29, 1944 Richard was born at St. Catherine's Hospital, East Chicago, IN to dale Cleatis and Mary Generva (Shook) Snearly. Basketball, track, and 1962 reigning HS prom king alongside his queen Eileen (thiery) Snearly. They both graduated from Dyer Central HS in 1962. They were married in 1965. He attended Purdue UN before joining the USAF in 1966 and was stationed on several bases over a four-year period including a year in Southeast Asia.\n\nHe was a lifelong employee of Inland Steel Company in East Chicago, IN. In 1971 Richard and Eileen were blessed with a son Kurt Aaron Snearly of Knox, IN.\n\nRichard is survived by huis wife of 57 years Eileen of Tucson, AZ; sister Marilyn J (Snearly) (Ron) Barzen of Prescott, AZ; son Kurt Aaron Snearly (Antonia Spicer Snearly) of Knox, IN; and grandson Jacob Rayne Snearly (Layla Leszek) of Knox, IN.\n\nHe was preceded in death by his parents Dale and Mary Snearly, younger brother Dennis, and nephews Shawn and Kelly Barzen.\n\nRichard was more than just a few words on a piece of paper. Those that knew him can agree he was one of the strongest men they've ever known.
