Robert A. Hartmann (Bob), age 84, passed away peacefully on April 20, 2016 in Oro Valley, AZ. He was born June 6, 1931 and grew up in the city of New Kensington, PA. He attended Pennsylvania State University, where he met his wife of 61 years, Susanna Wescott. Mr. Hartmann held BS and MS degrees in Structural Engineering from Penn State, where he was a member of Chi Epsilon and Sigma Tau honorary engineering fraternities and Theta Xi Fraternity. His life-long enjoyment of music was enhanced by being a member of the marching and concert Penn State Blue Bands each of his undergraduate years. During his career, he served as Manager of Engineering of the Hapco Division of Kearney-National in Abingdon, VA and of a structures division of Valmont Industries in Omaha, NE. He was a registered Professional Engineer in several states throughout the country. Bob was an active member of the Presbyterian Church for many years, serving as a deacon; always an example of God's loving kindness to all who knew him. He was a faithful husband, loving father and proud grandfather. He is survived by his wife, Susanna; sons, David (Shirley) Hartmann of Katy, TX and Rob (Julie) Hartmann of Marana, AZ; brother William (Gayle) Hartmann of Tucson, AZ; niece Amy (Joe) Gordon and Family; grandchildren, Paul (Theresa), Kristin, Michelle and Jenna Hartmann; and a great-grandson. A private Memorial service was held in Oro Valley on May 7, 2016. Memorials may be made in Bob's name to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research.
