Robert (Bob) Maassen

MAASSEN, Robert John, 92, of Tucson went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 19, 2018. Robert was the loving husband of Selma Frances Maassen (nee Moss) for 68 years. Selma preceded him in death on January 21, 2018. Robert is survived by sons John (Linda) Maassen and Peter Maassen, grandchildren, Lynn-Katherine (Curtis) Schuler and Genevieve (Brad) Korte, and great-grandchildren Aubrey Schuler and Gavin and Gabriel Korte. He was preceded in death by his daughters Daphne Maassen and Camila (John) Seed. Robert was born in Bismarck, ND, served as a radioman in the U.S. Navy in WW II on the USS Enterprise, and graduated from the University of Denver with a Bachelor of Architecture and Planning. Robert and Selma were married in Chicago, IL and settled in Tucson, AZ in 1953. Robert was an architect in Tucson for many years and spent the last decade of his career as Oro Valley's Senior Building Official. A memorial service will be held for Robert at VISTOSO FUNERAL HOME, 2285 E. Rancho Vistoso Blvd., Oro Valley, AZ 85755 on Monday, September 24 at 11 a.m. Interment at Marana Cemetery will follow the service.
