Robert H. Miller Obituary (1926 - 2022)

Robert H. Miller, age 96, of Tucson, Arizona, died there on October 22, 2022. He was born May 21, 1926, in Peoria, Illinois, to Robert William and Florence Seltzer Miller. He married Barbara Ann Walter on September 20, 1947, in Canton, Ohio. She died on August 5, 2021. He left four children surviving: Dr. Vincent T. Miller (Carolyn) of Hudson, WI; Jennifer M. Gies (Craig) of Palos Park, IL; Jeffrey W. Miller (Jeanne) of Eau Claire, WI; and Nathan R. Miller (Sherry) of Peoria, IL; also, seven grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. Bob was a WWII and Korean War Navy Veteran. He graduated from Purdue University with Bachelor degrees in Science and Naval Science and from the University of Illinois with a Doctor of Jurisprudence Degree. He was a member of Phi Gamma Delta social fraternity and of Phi Delta Phi legal fraternity. Prior to retirement in December, 1994, he practiced law in Peoria, Illinois, with the firms of Morgan, Pendarvis & Morgan; Davis and Morgan; and Miller, Hall and Triggs. He enjoyed golf and tennis in Peoria and Tucson for many years. He was president of the Peoria County Bar Association, Peoria Sertoma Club, and Mt. Hawley Country Club and past Chairman of the Greater Peoria Family YMCA. He was a former member of Forrest Hill United Methodist Church, in Peoria, and a current member of Vista De La Montana United Methodist Church, in Tucson. Vistoso Funeral Home, Oro Valley, Arizona, is in charge of arrangements and cremation has been accorded.
