September 13, 2026, in Tucson, AZ. She was preceded in death by her loving and
devoted husband Ramon Velasquez and grandson Xavier Velasquez and also her
brothers David, Armando, and Ricardo De La Ossa.
Rosalva was born on April 27, 1934, in Lochiel, AZ and was the daughter of Osbaldo &
Cruzita De La Ossa. She attended school in a one-room schoolhouse in Lochiel and
later graduated from Patagonia High School in 1952.
After graduation, Rosalva worked at a grocery store in Nogales before marrying Ramon.
Together Rosalva & Ramon raised 5 children: Son Ernesto Velasquez, Daughter Maria
(Tony) Telles, Daughter Diana Flores, Son Gilbert Velasquez, and Son David (Cynthia)
Velasquez. Rosalva & Ramon were the proud grandparents of 18 grandchildren, 46
great grandchildren which includes 2 step great grandchildren, and 17 great, great
grandchildren all of whom they loved dearly.
Rosalva is also survived by brothers Hector, Adalberto and Reynaldo De La Ossa and
sisters Elisa (Pete) Valenzuela and Maria (Malu) Louisa King.
Rosalva loved plants and gardening. She was an excellent seamstress and was well
known for this in the San Manuel community. She also served in various ways at St.
Bartholomew's Catholic Church in San Manuel.
Rosalva will be dearly missed by her family and everyone that knew her. Her family was
her pride and joy, and the newest babies brought her so much happiness. She was an
elegant woman of amazing faith and never overlooked an opportunity to pray for and
encourage others. Her faith, devotion and deep love for her family is instilled in each of
us, and we will carry this forward through the generations.
To our precious Rosalva, “our rose”, may you rest in peace, a life well lived and a life
well done.
