Ruth Ann Bonfiglio

Ruth Ann Bonfiglio, 65, of Oro Valley, AZ, passed away on February 16, 2021 after a courageous battle with cancer. She is survived by her husband Michael Bonfiglio and her siblings Jane (John) Sotebeer of Bristol, IN, Jim (Donna) Wilkinson of Oxford, IN and Bob (Kevin Morgan) Wilkinson of Indianapolis, IN. Ruth also leaves several beloved nieces and nephews, family members, and a friend who will sadly miss her.

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents K. Marvin and Mary Ruth Wilkinson of Oxford, IN; her brothers Thomas Wilkinson of WI and Gene Wilkinson of Georgia.

While a student at Benton Central High School in Oxford, IN Ruth was an accomplished swimmer, winning the State championship in the 50-yard backstroke her senior year. Ruth went on to attend Miami of Ohio her freshman year and then transferred to Ball State University in Muncie, IN to complete her education. At BSU she was a member of the Pi Beta Phi sorority and the Cardinal Pom Squad. Upon graduating with a business degree, Ruth moved to Elkhart, IN and took a position at First National Bank. She worked her way up from bank teller to teller trainer, branch manager and retired as a vice president.

"For the past 15 years, Ruth has lived in Oro Valley, AZ where she was actively involved and was an outstanding community member who had a great talent for bringing people together. People will remember her French Fry Fridays, her Christmas Eve birthday parties, her rendition of one of the bad girls in "Chicago" and her belief that the Chicago Cubs could win every game! She was a very special person whose light will continue to shine."

Services will be held March 13, 2021 at Santa Catalina Parish, 14380 N. Oracle Rd, Tucson, AZ 85739 at 10:00 am. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Angel Heart Pajama Project, 1505 W. St. Mary's Rd. PO Box 229, Tucson, AZ 85745.
