Ryan James Turner was born on the fourth of July 1944 in Cadbury Heath, Bristol, England, to James Richard and Virle Grace Turner. Ryan was the youngest of two sons. From a young age, he and his brother, Clive, enjoyed english football, train watching and roaming the fields in search of birds nests for their collections. In addition to his love for soccer, Ryan played professionally for the Bristol Rovers. In 1960 at the age of 16, Ryan met the love of his life, Lynne at a concert in Pensford. They courted for six years before marrying and soon after welcomed four children into the world, Julian, Gary (1969), Leanne, and Bradley. Seeking greater opportunities and doing what Ryan did best, providing for his family, the Turner's immigrated to America in 1977, calling Torrance, California home. During this time Ryan can be remembered as the British teamate on the Torrance Hotspurs, and the boys and girls soccer coach at North Highschool. In 1987 as a Honeywell employee, the Turner's made their last life changing move to Tucson, Arizona with their three children. In Tucson, roots were laid and Ryan became Poppy to 13 grandchildren; Alicia, Christopher, Zakary, Ryan, Ian, Isabel, Samantha, Benjamin, Matthew, Connor, Mckenna, Brayden, and Bristol and two great grandchildren, Atianna and Isla. Despite being a grandfather and great grandfather to so many, Poppy was able to make all of them believe they were his favorite. Ryan lived his life for his family and instilled love and happiness in each one of them. He had a gift in the way of giving others a sense of home and belonging. He did this many ways but most effectively, through his words. To Ryan, you were either 'My love', 'Mate' or being referred to as 'our Jul, our Lee, Our Brad' etc. Ryan was the life of any party and has been known to provide international travelers, met on flights, with his home address in case they were in the neighborhood. Those who knew Ryan felt lucky to know him and his love and friendship was coveted by all.
