He grew up in a "blue-collar" Polish/Catholic neighborhood.\n\n \n\nUpon graduation from Saint Ignatius High School, Stan attended Parks College at Saint Louis University where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Aerospace and Aeronautical Engineering.\n\n \n\nStan began his professional career with the Marquardt Corporation in Van Nuys, California where he worked in the Aero-performance group developing BOMARC missile ramjet engines. He performed flight test analysis as well as wind tunnel and static test-stand support and analysis.\n\n \n\nIn 1959 he received a Master of Science degree in Aeronautics from the California Institute of Technology, Pomona. That same year, he accepted a job offer from The Boeing Company in Seattle and moved to Washington.\n\n \n\nStan worked from 1959 to 1995 at The Boeing Company (36 Years) in the Defense & Space Division, where he eventually earned the title of Technical Fellow in Aerodynamic performance, stability, and control. This is the highest title a non-manager engineer can achieve. Stan worked on many projects, but his most revered accomplishment was working on an air-launched anti-satellite missile program for 14 years from initial concept through successful test flight and satellite kill. On this program, he was named Engineer of the Year in 1990.\n\n \n\nStan married Olga Willforth, of Chicago, Illinois on September 22, 1962. They purchased a home and started their life together in Bellevue, Washington, a suburb of Seattle. There they raised three boys: Stanley III, Frank and Mark. During this time Stan enjoyed attending various events for his kids - including concerts, plays, practices, and games no matter the weather. Once the boys got older, he also would make sure his 1968 Mustang was returned home safely by midnight. Stan and Olga were involved in many neighborhood events, parties, and the annual "Italian Dinner" fundraiser for Sacred Heart Catholic Church and school.\n\n \n\nUpon retiring from Boeing in 1995, Stan and Olga moved to the Saddlebrooke community in the foothills of Tucson, Arizona where he was very involved in the homeowner's association and participated in various boards and committees. He was HOA 2 president for a few years and oversaw the development of The Preserve Golf Course and Clubhouse. Stan and Olga enjoyed long morning walks around the golf courses, dinners and social events at the clubhouses, trips all over the Southern U.S. and Mexico, road trips across the USA, and visits with the kids/grandkids.\n\n \n\nStan was a devoted family man and stressed the values of pride, integrity, accountability, but most of all, love, in everyone he was in contact with. He is preceded in death by his parents, Harriette and Stanley. He is survived by his wife, Olga; sons Stanley III, Frank and wife Cathy, Mark and wife Marna; and grandchildren Alex and wife Sarah, Jonathon, and Elise.\n\n \n\nStan Passed away with his son Frank at his bedside on the 17th of February 2022.
