Stephen Charles Brack

–

Oro Valley, Arizona

Stephen (AKA Pete) began his life in Kansas, but grew up in the Denver Metro Area with his brothers Buddy, Jerry, David, Melvin, and sisters Beth and Barbara. He met his wife, Alice, at a small church in Denver. Shortly after, he graduated and became Daddy to Becky, Jenny, and Heather. Roughly 20 years later, he was elevated to Papa with the birth of Vanessa, Marissa, Nicole, Jacob, and Emma. Steve became "Our Papa" to the end. Steve's greatest passions were Jesus the Christ, family, history, music, football. He had a drive to gain knowledge, for the simple reason to "know & possibly understand". He bought a set of encyclopedias to help "the girls" with their homework, but we all knew it was because he wanted them. Whenever someone made a costly or bad decision he would say, "Well I guess everyone has to buy a set of encyclopedias once." This seeking of knowledge allowed Steve to become a walking trivia expert. Before Google, it was "Call Dad" and after Google it was "Call Papa" because Google could be wrong.

Steve had a gift of drawing people to him and everyone wanted to stay with him. He would say it was Jesus they saw in him. That is true, but what kept us close to him was his love of us. His "sharing" (lecturing ) was his way of trying to teach us a better way & avoid the mistakes he made &/or avoid the pitfall that we were moving toward. He would say over and over again, "Yes I have an opinion on everything and I am gonna share it whether anyone will ask for it or not...or even listen." To know him was to learn from him. The legacy of fatherly wisdom he left us, will stay with us & pass on to future generations. As long as we are here on earth, we will miss you, Papa. Even the dog, Lucky, whose only job was to keep you warm, looks to see if you are home yet & waits for your return.

Time doesn't heal all wounds and the hole you left can not be filled till we see you again with our beloved Jesus. Jesus said, "Blessed be those who mourn, for they shall be comforted. So, all we can do now is to stand and wait in that comfort. We love you!!
