Stephen Rumsey

Stephen Rumsey, 69, of Tucson, Arizona passed away April,26,2019. He was born in Batavia, NY to George and Elizabeth Rumsey. He graduated from LeRoy High School in 1967. Steve was an Eagle Scout. He was also a brick mason and built fireplaces and a beautiful home.

He attended SUNY Albany where he received a Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, and a Master's Degree and Doctorate (Ed.D) in Education. He married Cathy (Brown) in 1971 in NY. He taught for 34 years in Ballston Spa, New York, Acton, MA, and Wellesley, MA where he was Department Head of Science and Technology.

In 2006 he retired to Arizona with his wife Cathy. Steve tutored at San Manuel High School and Mammoth Elementary STEM program for 10 years. Steve is survived by his wife, Cathy; brother, David Rumsey, and sister, Cheryll Fernaays; as well as three nephews and one niece, and nine great nephews and nieces.
