Mammoth, Arizona
Steven Natchez Carlgren was born on July 27, 1974, in
Los Angeles, California. He grew up and attended school
in Marana, Arizona, and Pahrump, Nevada. After
graduating, Steven joined the United States Army, where
he served his country faithfully for 20 years.
He retired with honor as a Sergeant First Class.
Following his retirement, Steven lived in Nevada, Utah,
and Arizona. No matter where he lived, his heart remained
focused on service. He continued to give back to his
community and to those around him in quiet but meaningful ways.
Steven had a tremendous love for his family—his parents,
brothers and sisters, nieces and nephews, great-nieces
and great-nephews, and extended family—each of whom
he held dearly in his heart. Family meant everything to him.
He also had a special heart for children and for giving
without expectation. One of his favorite things to do was to
go to the store, purchase countless toys, and sit outside
handing them out to children as they passed by. The joy,
smiles, and laughter he brought to so many simply because
he cared are immeasurable.
Steven’s life was not always perfect; it had its ups and downs.
But through it all, he never lost his smile or his laughter.
His kindness, generosity, and love will live on in the memories
of all who knew him.
He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
