Ted Lewis Nichols was born in Tucson, Arizona, November 10, 1930. As a child he was in 4H Club and Boy Scouts. Ted Graduated from Tucson High School in 1949. After graduation he went to be a linotype operator in 2 small cities in California. \n\nIn 1950 he enlisted in the Air force, prior to being drafted, during the Korean war and served 4 years receiving a good conduct medal and a National Defense Service medal. He was a Senior Airborne radio operator while in the Service being honorably discharged as a Staff Sargent. Prior to enlisting he had married and had 2 boys.\n\nAfter the Service, Ted attended the University of Arizona and obtained his degree as an electrical engineer in 1960. He moved back to California for a career with Collins radio where he began to work with computers. His computer career spanned 39 years until he found a comfortable replacement to take on his legacy.\n\nIn 1962 Ted met the love of his life, Jan while consulting for the company she worked for. They went on to marry and together raised 2 children, a boy and a girl.\n\nIn later years, their son married, giving him 4 grand children and ultimately 6 great grandchildren. \n\n Ted and his wife Jan enjoyed many years of traveling, RV'ing, spending time with the great grandchildren. He was a wonderful Husband, Father, Grandfather and friend.
