Thelma was born in Grand Junction, Colorado on Aug. 30, 1912. She lived most of her life in the Denver area before moving to Tucson, AZ about 25 years ago. She was an avid golfer and played bridge to keep her mind sharp. At 99 she began to make use of the new technology of electronic book readers. She read a great deal and this made it easier to handle and see. The family threw a 100th Birthday bash for her last August. Many folks Thelma had known when she lived in Oro Valley were there to wish her well. Grandma was able to do most of her personal care as well as walk (sometimes with a walker). I find that incredible how truly alert and vital she was nearly to the end. She fell into a deep sleep about 5 days prior to her death and had her heaven day in peace. We will miss you a lot Grandma!
