Thomas C. Landreth, Sr. joined the Lord on March 29, 2010, in Tucson, AZ after a struggle with cancer. Born in Gadsden, AL on 8/24/31 and lived there until 1948 when he joined the U. S. Navy. After his retirement in 1969, he relocated to Davenport, IA. He is survived by his wife, Marlis (nee Johnson), of almost 28 years; six children, Tom Jr. (Denise)of Virginia Beach, VA, Steven (Karna) of Bettendorf, IA, Victor of Decatur, AL, Daniel (Kim) of Davenport, IA, Gary of Tucson, AZ, Annette (John) Christensen of St. Jo, MO, and a step-daughter, Juli (Jim) Vosmik of Scottsdale, AZ; 15 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren; brother to Homer (Dot) of AL, Mickey (Richard) Drummey of ME, Doris Southerland of AL, and Jennifer (Larry) Wells of AL. Thomas worked at the Scott Health Department for 18 years before moving to Tucson in 1988. He then worked for the Pima County Health Department for 5 years and then opened a small sign business, Signs ETC. He was an active member of DESA (Destroyers Escort Sailor's Assn), 1st Marine Division, a 37 year member of FRA (Fleet Reserve Assn.), VFW #10188 and bowled in the Fiesta Funtimers League until recently. Four sons also served in the Navy and currently two grandsons follow that tradition. Thomas was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Lue Williams and Ayne Proctor, and a step-son, John Storms. He will be missed by his family and especially his Shih-Tzu, Cho-cu.
