Tony Zorzynski Obituary (1955 - 2024)

Tony Zorzynski passed away on May 06, 2024, at home and was 69 years old. Tony was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1955, and raised in the Jersey suburbs. Early in his life, he joined the United States Navy. This led to a long and illustrious career with three different Department of Defense branches and culminated in the United States Public Health Service. If that wasn’t impressive enough he also graduated with a degree in Nursing from Rutgers University. Tony retired honorably with over 25 years of government service at the rank of Commander. Tony’s career provided him the opportunity to travel the world, including time spent in the Philippines as a Registered Nurse, teaching how to kill snakes as a Jungle Warfare Instructor in Japan, and as the Chief Medical Officer with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration off the coast of Brazil. When Tony retired from active military service, he co-founded an international medical transport service. Throughout Tony’s life he loved finding new shrimp recipes, playing the drums into the early morning hours, he embraced the “Island Time” concept, and he loved to make people laugh. Tony was persistently optimistic with unmitigated charisma, always welcoming friends and family with a drink in hand, a Hawaiian shirt on, and a story to tell. He is survived by his daughter Katrina Zorzynski, son Zac Zorzynski, brother Victor Zorzynski and wife Roberta, and his mother Diane Zorzynski.
