Trevor James Wolf

–

Oro Valley, Arizona

On March 26, 2021 God called Trevor home at the age of 31. Trevor was the beloved adopted son of Sue and Jim Wolf, of SaddleBrooke, Arizona and formerly Littleton, Colorado. Trevor was a sweet boy and a gentle man who always had a smile and something funny to say. His childhood was quite normal and he thrived in his loving Christ-centered home.

Trevor's life was a contest between nature and nurture. You see, Trevor's birth-mom was using drugs during pregnancy and Trevor had his first drug withdrawals as a 5-day old infant.

Trevor was attracted to drugs as a teen-ager. Most of his peers with similar recreational "use" made the right of passage into young adulthood without serious consequences. This was not Trevor's experience with drugs. Unfortunately, Trevor was caught in the court/corrections/probation cycle. The nurturing he received did not win out over the nature of his disease. He spent 9 years as a homeless drug addict with mental illness on the streets of Denver.

In June 2020, Trevor had spent considerable time in corrections and was sober. With much prayer and discernment, his parents invited him to live with them to try and put his life together. Those past ten months were the most pleasant family experience one could imagine. He came with nothing but a few items of clothing, no phone, no ID or Social Security card. He reunited with family and bonded with his brother Stryker. He got health insurance and a driver's license. He even passed his motorcycle test and license. He tried very hard to go to work, but no offers came. He still pursued. He demonstrated true love for family and life.

I guess nature took its cruel toll. On March 26, Trevor was found dead from an apparent drug overdose. But God has the final say. We are certain that he is resting in the loving arms of his Savior Jesus Christ with no more anxiety, pain, or harmful desires. We are so thankful for these past few months with Trevor. May God grant him and his loved one's peace, mercy and grace.

A Celebration of Life service will be held for Trevor and his extended family at Oro Valley Church of the Nazarene, 500 W Calle Concordia at 10:00 am on April 30. The public is welcome. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Celebrate Recovery at Central Church of the Nazarene. Link.
