Vernon Lee Worden, 82 of Tucson, passed away peacefully December 17, 2010 at home surrounded by his family. Vernon is survived by his wife of 58 years, Bonnie, his sons John (Jamie) and Tim (Jennifer), his grandchildren Tyler, Shelby, Dakota, Juliet, Ariel, and Kylie, and his brother Francis (Beverly), all of Tucson. Vernon was born in Kingfisher, OK on June 8, 1928, and moved to Tucson as a child. He attended Tucson High School, before serving in the 40th infantry division of the Army. Vernon served his country as a combat veteran of the Korean war. He returned to Tucson, where he married Bonnie. Vernon worked in the communications field. He began his career with Mountain States Telephone & Telegraph, and ended it with the City of Tucson. Services for Vernon will be held on December 23rd at Vistoso Funeral Home in Oro Valley. Visitation will be at 1:00 pm, with a ceremony at 2:00. A funeral procession to Evergreen Cemetery will follow, where Vernon will be laid to rest.
