Veronta St. Clair Obituary (1939 - 2012)

To view Veronta's Life Tribute, Click Here. Veronta St. Clair lost her valiant struggle with cancer on February 14, 2012 with her family by her side in Tucson, Arizona. She was born on April 4, 1939 in Dickinson, North Dakota to Arthur Barrington "Barry" Clare and Laura Connell Clare. She grew up in western North Dakota and eastern Montana. She graduated from New England Public High School in North Dakota in 1957. She attended college at the Jamestown College in North Dakota graduating in 1961 with a Bachelor's Degree. She moved to Moses Lake, Washington and began her teaching career where she met her future husband Paul St. Clair and they were married in 1962. They moved to Tacoma, Washington where she taught in the Franklin Pierce Public Schools for 29 years, retiring in 1992. In 2000 she and Paul moved to Tucson, Arizona where they made their home in Saddlebrooke. Preceded in death by her parents Arthur Barrington "Barry" Clare and Laura Connell Clare and her brother Arthur Byron (Sonny) Clare. She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Paul St. Clair, two brothers, Pat (Delores) Kimbro, Michael (Katherine) Kimbro, step brothers and sister, Morris (LaVerna) Nelson, Tom (Sandy) Nelson, Linda (Alan) Butts, the many nieces, nephews and relatives. Veronta's many loves were her husband Paul of 49 years, her family, her friends, her cats Tommy & Silky, the ballet and theatre, fine dining, Tai Chi, and reading.
